Friday, August 15: I decided that I needed to work out, so I went for a run. I ran through Lincoln Park, which was designed by the same architect who designed Central Park. I saw the stage where they have the Shakespeare Festival, which plays are free to the public during the summer evenings. In the afternoon, I drove around the city. I saw the house were Theodore Roosevelt was inaugurated his first time, after the assassination of President McKinley in September of 1901. I drove by Buffalo’s City Hall, which was done in a Art Deco design. Outside this historic building was an example of the Art on Wheels exhibit. Automobiles can be found throughout the City with various themes painted upon them.

Saturday, August 16: On Saturday afternoon, I drove to Niagra Falls on the U.S. side. I discovered that the Maiden of the Mist boat tour was cancelled due to the low water level in the Niagra River. More water than usual was being diverted from the river to support the extra energy that needed to be produced to counteract the electricity outage in the Northeast. But, I did have a great time anyway. I walked to Prospect Point by the American Falls and onto the Observation Deck where I got some very beautiful views of the Falls. From there I walked across the Pedestrian Bridge to Goat Island, which sits in the middle of the Niagra Falls. From the edge of Goat Island, including the Horseshoe Falls, is Canada. I got an up close and spectacular view of the Horseshoe Falls from Terrapin Piont.
